Safety

I ask all parents to co-operate with the following requests in the interest of safety and good relationships.

  1. Please close the gate after YOU. This is to keep dogs out, to keep our grounds safe, and to ensure the safety of ALL our children.
  2. Please make sure that your child has no money in his/her pockets as this often drops out when climbing.
  3. Take great care when driving into/out of Province Place, as young children can be unaware of Road Safety.

We go to great lengths to keep children safe when they are in our care. We believe that an important part of Health & Safety is to teach children to act responsibly with regard to any hazards they may encounter in their world, such as electrical sockets, knives, scissors, traffic, climbing trees, broken glass, hot ovens, etc., just as families do at home.

Part of our provision is large climbing apparatus. All equipment has been chosen with care and with this age group in mind. We believe that children WILL climb, and we make the area as safe as possible by ensuring that mats are in place, by sensible supervision and appropriate teaching

Parents are welcome to inspect any equipment and to ask any questions at any time. We want you to feel confident that our provision is suitable.

Child Protection
Parents should be aware that the school has a policy for Child Protection and a legal responsibility to ensure the safety of its children. In cases where we have reason to be concerned about a child’s welfare and safety, we have no alternative but to follow Sefton Children’s Services Child Protection procedures.

Parents are welcome to borrow a copy of the policy, and we will be happy to answer any questions regarding its contents.
