Greenacre Nursery School, Bootle: General Information

Pre Admission Arrangements

Parental involvement in the Nursery begins when the parent enquires at the Nursery School about a place for his/her child.

The Headteacher enters the child’s name on the waiting list and the parent is asked to fill in an admission form. Parents and child are encouraged to visit the Nursery occasionally until the child’s 3rd birthday. As soon as a place becomes vacant, parents receive a letter inviting them to the Nursery, to meet the staff and to have any queries answered. They will also be given a date for a pre-admission visit with their child.

To make it easier for each child to settle, we ask every parent to stay with his/her child for at least the first session. Children are admitted in small groups of 2, 3 or 4 to maximise attention from the staff.

Before a child is admitted the birth certificate, passport or Child Benefit book must be produced, to ensure that we have the correct date of birth.

After admission, parents are asked to complete a form with additional information about their child’s interests and prior experience, which will help us to build up a good relationship with the child more quickly. There is also a Data Protection form, regarding the use of photographic material.
