Family Learning
In conjunction with Sefton FAST (Families And Schools Together), Parents as Educators courses are held each year. Parents are encouraged to participate, in order to understand how young children can learn about literacy and numeracy at home.
Throughout the year, there are other Family Learning Days, based on creative and outdoor activities. All family members are welcome.
We ask parents to be actively involved in their child’s education by using the lending library. This is available every day. We have a wide selection of books which we hope you will enjoy sharing.
In school, we work on a “theme” and a copy of the planning is displayed in the cloakroom. Each week two activities are highlighted, so that you can talk with your child about what’s happening in school.
Mrs Pugh has developed a set of games with a maths emphasis, so that you can help your child to gain skills in maths while you are having fun together at home. There will be an introductory workshop, to make clear the educational ideas involved in playing the games. Then children will be bringing one home regularly. Apart from getting involved in this activity, we ask you to take good care of all the items and keep the games complete.
