Clothing
At the request of parents we have school sweatshirts embroidered with the Greenacre logo: These are on sale in school. Sweatshirts are entirely optional and are not school uniform.
We ask that you send your child to school in clothing which he/she can easily manage when he/she goes to the toilet. It can be very distressing for a child to become wet or soiled just because he/she cannot undo a small button.
Although we do have aprons for messy play, occasionally marks do appear on clothes, so it is sensible to send children in clothes which can be easily washed. If paint stains occur, put clothes into cold water before washing.
In wet weather when wellingtons are worn, the children should change into indoor shoes – and PLEASE put your child’s name or some identification in these. Many children wear the same or similar coats or anoraks so it is important to have a name or some identification in them.
Similarly, in summer, protection from the sun is advisable in the form of long sleeved tops and sun hats. These items should be named to avoid confusion.
We have a small stock of clothes for use in emergencies and we ask you to wash and return these if they are used for your child. Please remember that we go outside most days and children need their warm clothes to be left here during the session.
